Well Service Valves & Seats
Novatech Limited was founded in 1970 to provide Inertia-Friction Welding to the energy industry and automotive after-market as a service, which was not readily available in the Southwestern United States. Novatech pioneered inertia-friction welding with the acquisition of a Caterpillar Inertia Welder – the second such machine shipped to the Southwest.
Novatech’s goal, and company slogan, is “Innovations in technology for industry.” Novatech’s selectively built customer base has expanded over the years as a result of its utilization of a high technology method of joining like and unlike metals for both the military and commercial industries.
In l983, Novatech pioneered the manufacture of the original inertia welded uni-body valve design for the oil field service industry. This valve, manufactured by Novatech and marketed under the “Roughneck” label, quickly became the standard of the industry. This valve combined the advantages of a forging with the advantages of an investment casting. The result was a valve where the forged allow steel upper body assures impact strength and the precision cast guide legs minimize flow restrictions and fluid turbulence.
In 1991, Novatech began to market its own line of valves and seats and, in 2001, Novatech introduced valves with the new “cast-in-place” insert. This insert, for which United States Patents are pending, eliminated many of the common problems, which have long plagued valves with snap-on inserts. Though such innovations, Novatech has become the leader in full open valve and seat technology by its marketing of the first valves and seats in the industry which are rated for continuous service at 7500 psi.

Today Novatech is actively pursuing continuing improvements to its product line with an aggressive R&D program. Fields of study include: stress reduction via computer Finite Element Analysis (FEA), new insert compound development for high temperature and high pressure pumping applications, and evaluation of new metallic wear resistant coatings for valve seats and other pump applications.
Novatech’s corporate offices and modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant is located at 8388 C. F. Hawn Freeway in Dallas, Texas. Its equipment includes the following:
· CNC machining for exact dimensional tolerance control
· Robotic loading for higher efficiency machining and lower product costs
· CNC grinding for exact dimensional tolerance control of seat tapers
· Complete seat taper gage inventory
· Inertia welding for consistent quality welds
· Metallurgical hardness testing equipment
· Complete quality control department with certified dimensional gages
